The Indianapolis Zoo strives to create natural and stimulating environments for the animals they house, but that dedication extends to the people environments, as well. Instead of simply building a boring roof for the new orangutan exhibit, they opted for a green roof.
The 2500 square foot installation was designed to mimic Indiana meadows using all native plants, including meadow sedums that require little maintenance.
Completing the project was a water leak detection system and on-roof irrigation system for hands-off watering.
