Belmont Wastewater Treatment Plant Green Roof

The whole point of a wastewater treatment plant is cleaning up the neighborhood. We beautified the plant with native Indiana flora.

Expanding our portfolio of roofing options in 2012, Belmont Wastewater Treatment Plant was the first green roofing project for R Adams Roofing. It seems fitting that an industry that cleans our water also wanted an environmentally sustainable aspect of their building.

Installed over a base layer of EPDM roofing material, the pavers, surrounded by inviting green space, provide an aesthetically pleasing environment for employees to relax and take advantage of an outdoor space most of us forget about… the roof. Utilizing low-maintenance, native Indiana meadow sedum, the greenery also supplies beneficial sustenance and shelter to area birds and insects.

The “dirt” is actually an airiodite mixture that both sustains the plants and reduces weight.
